Those long Summer Days

Hiiiii sweet friends, we are still here!

For one, these 100 degree days across the country are killing me! I already sweat enough just cause I'm a female and a mom and I'm just forever sweaty! Tell me I'm not the only one??!! Ok, so I'll update you all on our lives lately, aka our roller coaster ride. Our biggest travel adventure lately was to Fontana, Wisconsin. My friend Jillian who I met when I lived in Nashville got married! We have remained good friends so of course, I wasn't going to miss her big day! She's the biggest diva of all divas (I say this with madd love)... her wedding was out of this world! So, we traveled to Fontana in June for that, which was a gorgeous drive! From Florida, we stopped in Onenonta, Alabama to visit a friend then to Nashville then we found a campground that is definitely one we will visit again. It was a family owned KOA in Indianapolis and it had the best amenities! We stayed there on the way to Wisconsin and actually drove back there right after the wedding. Seriously, this place was so lovely and family friendly. Why we drove 6 hours back after the wedding?.... We thought we could stay in our friend's driveway the night of the wedding.. we THOUGHT Wisconsin would be a nice, cool (as in temperature) state to get away to and enjoy some cooler weather, but we thought SO wrong! It was way too hot to boondock (go without any hookups) and the closest campground that had availability was hours away. So yea, we just decided to haul butt back to Indianapolis that night, got there around 4 am. We were so dead that next day but so glad to have that drive behind us! Ps- the tolls in Illinois are insane. Especially when you have to pay for 4 axles. -_-  The wedding was totally worth it though! Congrats Jllian and Ryan!!

So besides that long trip, we also went to one of my very best friend's engagement party in Guntersville, Alabama. If you've never been there, GO! It's the most beautiful lake and the cutest little southern town!! The party was perfect and the fact that I got to spend a long weekend with two of my best girlfriends was SO needed. I've really missed them since we've been traveling. Other than that, we've just been keeping to ourselves. Realizing what is REALLY important in life and letting go of what's not. I feel like this is an ongoing life lesson

We have grown so much closer as a family, I know I've said that before but seriously, at the end of the day... everything in this airstream and a handful of people is all that matters to me. I never realized growing up that you don't keep all your friends. You actually don't keep hardly any of them. What's crazy though, is that some of the people we have met on the road are some of the same ones that I now hold dear to me. Just having the same values and outlook on life. None of the petty stuff matters anymore. I'm letting go of things I can't change and just being the best me I can be. I can give someone my all, and if they don't reciprocate, I'm just letting go. Life is way too short to worry about others and give energy where it's not appreciated.

On another note, we have been discussing being done traveling. I want to open a little shop (I can't say what it is yet), but to do that, we have to be still. We have to focus on it and be steady for the next chapter in our lives. So, we have been looking at options. So, so, sooo many beautiful places to live! How do you pick?! I want to be in a place of love and comfort and be able to call a friend up when I need to. I just want to be happy where I live. I think that's one amazing thing about living the rv life is that if somewhere sucks, you can literally pack up and leave and never look back. Which we have done, quite a few times now. So to settle somewhere... is a little scary. Exciting, but scary. We have a few places in mind, but not totally set just yet. I do know we will have an insane amount of appreciation for wherever we land because space is precious to us, now. Until we find that space, we will continue to live our lives, in search of it... except for right now... Adam's mom is in the hospital and has been for quite some time. We came home to be with her and have been spending every minute we can, by her side. Her health is declining, but we all have been able to talk to her and put some differences to rest. (fam stuff) She has enjoyed watching the kids play in her hospital room and we all have had some really good conversations along with a few good laughs in the ole hospital. Our hope is to get her home where she is comfortable and surrounded by her own environment and her own people to move on from this place we call home. ♡
